A Day to Forget

I woke up this morning with huge anticipation for the semi final game in the evening against the spurs and i was expecting a good blend of youth and experience for this return leg and it so was to be when i found out later in the evening before the kick off. I did believe we will have a fair chance to win this tie and go through to the finals for the consecutive year.
I met a couple of pals at the Tuns in lse told them about the game and how excited i was. There was this inner confidence of having faith in the team that they would do it. The day in itself was not all that good for me as i got a reject from one company and then later goofed up in my application to another.
From the tuns we moved to rosebery where i was treated to some british dinner where i had boiled potato [which i already look like :)] served with some cold slaw, sausages and salad. It wasnt bad to be honest. A quick easy meal.
Headed to this place close to rosebery to watch the match and boy was i in for the shock of my life. Arsenal lost 5-1 i cant express how disappointed i was to see that score line. In the end we deserved to lose there was no fight to win the game, there was no creativity, loss of ideas to play the brand of football they are known to play. Its a test of character for them to come out stronger next game. Lets c whats in store.
I have no clue why im so passionate about this game, people may say its just a game but i will fail to give you an answer as to why its become a part of me. U might say its madness well yeah may be but it makes me happy, so i dont care. There are few things that are really close to me and this club is. Just felt like writing on my blog today so till next time sayonara :)

WALTON ON THAMES

Suneel and I were invited for lunch by Martin who lived in a small english town called Walton on thames. The invitation to me was very pleasant and it was the first time that I actually travelled out of London during my time here over the past few months. Its quite funny how much i speak about the weather here and the weather on that day helped me enjoy the scenic beauty around the lesser confines of the fast paced world. It was about an hours journey so it was short lived and gives me that eagerness to do some sight seeing in the near future to other parts of the country side.
On arrival we were driven around the town to see some parts of it and were shown the castle of Henry. After a drive past the castle we were taken to a local park and cricket club beside it which was on the banks of the river thames. The houses on the banks of the river were magnificent and would surely be lovely to stay there for a while.
For lunch we had some indian chicken tikka masala and rice and boy was it yum. Had a treat to some nice choc pastries after lunch. The funny part of this trip was the ride on the bike. Well thats a different story will disclose that sometime in the future :) well if u wanna know then u have to meet me in person. It was a beautiful beast 1000 cc and boy would love to own something like that someday.
At the end of the day we all headed back to london like three musketeers and headed to a spanish bar and restaurant and over drinks we debated on various topics and if the US is to be blamed for its influence over world governing bodies like World bank and ILO. It was one of the interesting debates that i have had and will remember this.
I thought that was it for the day but it wasnt to be back home there was another debate on the repression of women in society in india where i didnt debate much on it but i was there listening to some heated conversations over a couple of hours and the heat got to a point in between where even the fire alarm bell went off. We indians surely know how to turn on the heat BUT the alarm wasnt because of us there really was something burning in one of the other kitchens on the floor.
Another eventful and memorable day in the week gone by and the time has come to get back to college for the Lent term and make the best use of it and squeeze the max out of what i can take this term. Lets see how it goes.

Eve and the New Year - 2008

A dark rainy evening lead us all to radhikas door on new years eve. Where about 15 of us gathered to make a full south indian dinner and boy did we have a blast making such an extensive dinner. After dinner we strolled towards the london eye to catch a glimpse of the fireworks.

I couldn't believe what i saw the whole place was packed zillions of people pushing, drunk as always and for a change see the people with happy faces rather than their long grumpy old faces. To our bad luck we were lead to the next bridge to see the fireworks. Waited freaking 2 hours for a 10 min display of smoke. I couldn't believe my eyes that they spent 1.5 million pounds on that. To me that was such a waste of money to display of power. The money could have wisely been used to get some children of the roads for education. Food for the hungry. People might argue its not my problem and we shouldn't worry about it well we are all human and we are collectively responsible to what happens to this world and we together have to bring a change to things that go on.

After that we headed from the crowd to grosvenor n were disappointed cause someone had taken away the speakers and that spoilt our party temporarily. That disappointment lead to sid throwing up. Sympathies to chirag who had to clean that up. There on we all moved to rosebery and boy did we all dance till we dropped dead. Danced to all Indian numbers and did some nice TAPORI dance :). At 5 it was time to call it a night and we all headed home to get some sleep.

I have poor memory and i thought this is a nice way to recap some of my memories in the future. Who would need shilpa shetty we have a duplicate in LSE but personally i prefer seeing Shilpa shetty :). Final dance of the evening Enjoy it Everyone. Im gonna take the risk of getting kicked for it
